The IoT SHOW Asia 2016

Suntech Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.    1-2 September

Gert Botha – Executive Officer – Hiving Technology -UAE

Gert is the CEO and one of the founding team of Hive Technology — a Dubai based company that launched the world’s first single wireless identification technology in November 2015. He has spent the last 5 years side by side with the inventor of the technology aligning and building the Hive One ID technology and solutions.

Thinking and looking outside the conventional box is one of his key strengths. Gert believes that the only way to change the companies and world we live and work in is to re-create and build what we want it to be through new exciting innovative ideas, practices and products. Technology innovation in today’s online world is a key component in realising these changes, and one of Gert’s core focusses.

Gert is a seasoned management and technology consultant with 25 years diverse experience in both Public and Private sector, various industries and countries. He stays abreast of technology trends and consults with CIO’s, CMO’s & CEO’s on technology strategy and how to use technology to innovate client service delivery. In his approach he ensures that the real value of the Internet of Things isn’t about linking millions of devices together, just like the internet innovation wasn’t just done to network computers across the globe. Instead, the true and still unrealised potential of this technology wave is to simplify how people interact with technology and the world around them. This pose major opportunities for Business and Governments alike to adjust by transforming business and service delivery models to take advantage of technology.

IO India Conclave 2015 – Goa, India

Despite the economic downturn freezing or cutting budgets and yielding a slow recovery, businesses are regaining strength and global IT spending is expected to increase in the coming years. But even with an economic upturn on the horizon and more importance placed on IT, we aren’t out of the woods yet.

The role of the CIO is more important than ever as financial turmoil continues to alter the global economy, making it difficult to put your organization in a position to achieve success.
